ROADS IN AP

Andhra Pradesh Road Development Corporation (APRDC): 

The AP Road Development Corporation was established in the year 1998 through the Act, No.1 dated 2nd January 1998 with broad motive of "Development and Maintenance of Roads in the State of Andhra Pradesh and other allied and incidental activities there to" under the above designated Road Development Corporation. 

Corporation Governing Body shall consist of the following members, namely :-

• The Hon'ble Minister for Roads & Buildings -- Ex-Officio Chairman, APRDC.

• The Chief Secretary to Government of A. P. -- Ex-Officio Vice Chairman, APRDC.

• The Principal Secretary to Govt., T, R &B Department -- Ex-Officio Member, APRDC.

• The Principal Secretary to Govt. Finance & Plg.(Works &Projects) Dept.-- Ex-Officio Member, APRDC.

• Engineer - in - Chief (R&B) Roads -- Ex-Officio Member, APRDC.

• Chief Engineer (R&B) & Managing Director, APRDC-- Member Secretary, APRDC.

• The Vice Chairman &Managing Director, AP State Road Transport Corporation -- Ex-Officio Member , APRDC.

• The Principal Secretary to Govt. Finance & Plg.(Works &Projects) Dept.-- Ex-Officio Member, APRDC.

• The Principal Secretary to Govt. Finance & Plg.(Works &Projects) Dept.-- Ex-Officio Member, APRDC.

The Managing Director, State Bank of Hyderabad -- Ex-Officio Non-official Member. The Governing Body will decide policy matters authorizing Chief Engineer (R&B) & Managing Director, APRDC to implement the schemes, policies & review decisions taken from time to time. 

APRDC is responsible for

• Maintenance and Management of 11,119 kms of High traffic Core net work roads.

• Development and Up-gradation works of the State Road network under PPP, BOT and Annuity pattern.

• Preparation of detailed project reports and Implementation of externally aided projects.
